Contestant #2 – Kim McClure

After reading Kim’s reason for why she wants my ticket to the Frederick Chamber New Media and Technology Conference, please leave a comment with why she deserves it the most. At least put her name in the comment, so I can tell it is not a spam comment. Voting ends Wednesday, January 27 at 3:00 pm EST.

Willy Wanka and the Chocolate Factory is one of my all time favorite movies. The message the movie leaves you with is: if you are a good person no matter what your financial state . . . if you have what it takes – if you keep trying -if you find people that beleve in you and your cause -  your dreams can come true . . .

That is the basis on which I would like to use social media . . . My dream is to use social media in an effective way to introduce a new non-profit project called the Healing Spaces Project. Healing Spaces is a project that creates healing environments in the homes of children affected by serious medical conditions. It will serve sick children who have the most critical need for a healing environment, who will physically and emotionally benefit the most from the healing elements we use to transform the child’s room, and whose family lacks the economic resources to create this healing environment.

I have started to take steps to spread the word . . . like setting up a Facebook page for my business which promtes the project, using my business website to promote the project and contacting the media . . . but I know there is so much more that I could be doing . . . I just don’t know how.

Here is where I need your help to educate me about the powerful abilites and possibilities of socaial media and hopefully I will be singing . . .

“Cause I’ve got a golden ticket
Cause I’ve got a golden ticket
I’ve got a golden chance to make my way
And with a golden ticket, it’s a golden day!”

Sincerely,
Kim McClure, ASID, LEED AP

What more noble cause than to benefit a child in need?

I just realized that I was one of the three selections – I really want to attend!

Kim with her wonderful smile is passionate about us living in a green environment and designed to meet the needs of her clients. I see Kim persuing this cause with the same passion and affect change for children in need of a healing environment. Can’t wait to see the results and photograph the before to after. I am cheering for you Kim!

I have known Kim for 30 years as a close friend. I am so proud of her for standing up and trying to make a difference, and from what I know of her she is going to make that difference. Her heart is as big as her smile.

Kim McClure Contestant
I have worked with Kim for 2 years, she has always been on top of her projects and helpful to others. She has an innate creative ability as well as being passionate and well organized. Her ability to get along with such diverse personalities speaks volumes on why she would benefit from learning more about social networking. She has always taken an initiative to learn more about her work, whether it is new certifications or new computer skills. Her wanting to help others is something we should all aspire to.

Kim has the knowledge and drive to accomplish anything she sets her mind & heart to !!!!….

Kim is a true social entrepreneur– she understands the importance of embedding any business venture in something bigger than money, more powerful than profit. While launching her innovative new design business, she embraced a humanitarian pilot program called “Healing Spaces,” through which she identified a child recovering from an illness whose … See Moreroom could be made more comfortable while she got better. She is one of those rare people who is simply driven by The Right Thing To Do. She’s innovative, generous and supportive– why not perpetuate that kindness and reward those lovely qualities while giving her the means to tap into one of the most powerful tools available to businesses by giving her the ticket to the New Media & Technology Conference

I cannot think of a more authentic, caring person. There is no doubt that she should be the pick!

Kim is very passionate about her designs. She loves people and has found a wonderful avenue to combine those two qualities. Helping people is one of the best gifts that we can give to another human being. Good Luck Kim!

Kim is a wonderful, caring human being who would use the knowledge gained from this course as a tool to help others. As we make our way through our hectic lives, it takes a special person like Kim to dedicate her time and efforts to make the difference in someone else’s life. I believe she is deserving of this ticket since she gives so freely to others.

Kim is caring, thoughtful, and a great mentor. I met Kim at my first design job and she has taught me so much about design, and given me wisdom beyond my years. My family was up north and her and her family would invite me to dinner, and parties, and make me always feel welcome. I can’t think of a better candidate.

As a long-time friend of Kim, I’ve seen many occasions where she has stepped up to help those in need. With her drive, passion and design skills, I believe she will make a tremendous difference in the lives of these deserving children. Even with these qualities, she still strives for new ways to improve her efforts. Please allow Kim to gain some valuable information from this conference, to enable her to help take this wonderful program to new heights.

Kim has got “it”. She’s motivated to make a difference with a passion. Along with her kind soul, her creativity and imagination will see her through her Healing Spaces project with or without the ticket. But adding the ticket to her toolbox will quicken the process. Good luck, Kim!

Kim is a hard working, determined person, willing to make a difference in a child’s life during a difficult time.

I met Kim through the project she is working on in Monrovia for a young girl recovering from cancer. She is very passionate about this cause and I believe this program would further her efforts in helping others.

I was lucky enough to work with Kim McClure as she was starting her business. Right away I was impressed with her drive, passion and creativity. She is the type of person who puts her all into something, as is clearly demonstrated with her will to start her own eco-conscious interior design business, as well as her drive to promote the non profit project, Healing Spaces. I am positive that Kim will take in all that she can from the New Media and Technology Conference and use what she learns to it’s fullest advantage.

I have know Kim for many years – both professionally and personally. Professionally – she is one of the most determined people that I know – always striving to do her best with whatever project she was working on. She is very energetic and organized and can always be counted on to meet her deadlines. Kim is also a very good person – very empathetic and caring. She has told me about the Healing Spaces project and she is enthusiastic about it and wants to continue helping others.

Kim has demostrated her willingness and commitment to help others by taking the initative to move forward on her own. She has donated her time and expertise to help others. I believe additional training or suggestions would certainly prove to enhance her already established ability to help others.

Kim’s passion for using her gifts to help others speaks to her commitment to make a difference. Kim was a student in my entrepreneurial business class and she consistently exceeded expectations and demonstrated a willingness to do whatever was needed to meet the demanding requirements of the course. I was so impressed with Kim, that I hired her to create a new floor plan and design for our basement and she did an exceptional job. I can’t think of a more deserving person to win this ticket.

Having known Kim for many years, she is a dedicated, caring, and talented person that helps deserving children through “Healing Spaces” to get that little bit of gold to brighten their day. Kim is worthy of a ticket to attend this Social Media Workshop so other people can hear about and assist in this worthwhile cause – the children in need.

Kim is a wonderful person and definitely should be chosen for this!

Kim has always displayed a high degree of integrity, responsibility, and ambition. Kim is a hard worker, completely reliable; she has a tremendous work ethic.
Kim is also a most dependable team player. Kim is a kind & caring person and would be an asset to any organization, and I am happy to give her my wholehearted endorsement.

Kim is an amazingly talented woman with creative thinking, a warm heart and a generous soul. She has a strong sense of motivation about her and a passion for learning. Kim is also an equally amazing mother with an obvious love for her sons. As a mother myself, I know how much time and energy it takes to care for a child without disabilities and illness. This project is simply amazing. I believe Kim should have the opportunity to take this training so she can move her dream forward and better the lives of both children and parents who need it the very most. Her contribution will prove to have an incredible impact…I assure you!

Look what Kim has acheived already! Healing Spaces started as an idea several months ago and is now a reality. Give her the oppurtunity to expand this program with this training and the sky’s the limit!

Kim not only has amazing design talent and skills, but is a joy to be around both professionally and personally. She would be a perfect candidate for this program because her end goal would serve to heal spaces, homes and the hearts of many. Go Team Kim!

Kim is a wonderful designer and a very kind person. I want to cast a vote for her so she is selected to attend your seminar. The information she learns will serve very valuable for her cause.
Thanks,
Wendi Subers

I took a stroll down memory lane, I recalled that Kim’s desire to make our environment better, safer and beautiful, is a package deal. Where there is desire to make a difference, there is life…she has vision, she is motivated and she is in a position, to teach and learn, to make a difference. Though I have not known her for years, what I do know is that; she will make it work for the good.

I can’t think of a more deserving recipient than Kim! Her passion and enthusiastic approach to making our world eco-friendly is awesome. She has a wonderful spirit and a desire to make a difference. Giving her this opportunity to gain additional knowledge is a win-win!!! Healing Spaces and Marketing Roadhouse will be a blessing to others!
I am very proud to know Kim (former classmate) and to support such a worthwhile project.

P.S. Kim – You are already a winner!!!

I feel Kim is a perfect candidate for your seminar – she is a marvelous designer – great attention to detail – she cares for others in a very gentle and passionate way – she will only strengthen any project she decides to work on -

Good luck Kim

I have know Kim for several years as we went to High School together and know that she is passionate about her work and her project.

After learning of her new business endeavor, especially her focus on creating healing spaces for sick children — I know this event will help Kim make the connections necessary to help her launch this very important project.

As a business executive that uses social media on a daily basis, I’m confident Kim will gain great experience from this workshop and couldn’t think of a more perfect candidate to attend.

I am the mother of the Alex, who is going to benefit from Kim’s first Healing Spaces room redo. Kim is an amazing person with a wonderful heart. I can not tell you how much this will mean to my daughter and our family. I would do anything to help her to help other families in need of this wonderful and life changing service that she will provide! I feel that if you could pick her for the “Golden Ticket” it will be very beneficial into helping Healing Spaces provide an incredible dream to many families in the future. Go Kim!!!

Kim is a talented designer and an entrepreneur with excellent instincts and business accumen. She is very committed to sharing her talents in an environmentally friendly way. Bringing Healing Spaces here to Frederick County is the result of years of research and preparation by Kim and I’m very pleased to see it happening.

Kim deserves to attend the Frederick Chamber New Media and Technology conference to learn new ways to help her effectively make a positive change in peoples lives through her organization, Healing Spaces, which provides such hope and joy to seriously ill children by creating a positive new environment for them to live and heal within.

Kim is very passionate about helping families and about great design. Please help her to spread her love and joy and enthusiasm by giving her the opportunity to attend this seminar.

If anyone can get Healing Spaces off the ground it is Kim. I have known her since grade school and she has always had a strong work ethic. She is a talented designer and will make the spaces special and beautiful for each child.

In addition to being an incredible designer, Kim has a great passion for helping others. She is an amazing role model and would truely love the opportunity to attend this seminar.
